Between guided tastings and networking moments, Edinburgh and London hosted two premiere events of Cheers and Cheese to EU in October 2025, designed to showcase the affinity between Grana Padano PDO and Prosecco DOC. Held within the framework of the Restaurant Weeks, the events offered guests a convivial experience dedicated to discovery and sharing.
Each evening opened with a welcome glass of Prosecco DOC and an introductory session led by experts in these outstanding European products. In London, guests were guided by cheese expert Jessica Summer and Elizabeth “Wine Girl” Hawthornthwaite, a specialist in the wine sector. In Edinburgh, the in-depth presentation was led by cheese expert Ned Palmer and wine expert Diana Thomson.
Industry professionals and media representatives enjoyed a tasting of three typologies of Grana Padano PDO (aged 9, 15 and 20 months), paired with Prosecco DOC and Prosecco DOC Rosé, served on boards enhanced with preserves and fruit. Short thematic talks and table service featuring canapés, enriched with delicious dishes such as black tagliolini with truffle served in a Grana Padano PDO wheel and Grana Padano PDO custard tart with pears and caramelised pecans, completed this unique experience.
