Cheers&Cheese to EU is a three-year information and promotion project (March 2024 – February 2027) co-financed by the European Union (Regulation (EU) 1144/2014) and jointly promoted by the Grana Padano PDO Protection Consortium and Next Generation Pro, an Association that brings together Prosecco DOC producers.
Grana Padano PDO and Prosecco DOC are authentic products of certified quality, and maximum expression of their land of origin. In addition, both producers of Grana Padano PDO and Prosecco DOC are actively involved in the global effort to make agri-food products more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
The aim of Cheers&Cheese to EU is to raise awareness about the PDO logo among consumers and European industry operators, especially in the UK and Switzerland, and to promote knowledge of Grana Padano PDO and Prosecco DOC in both markets.
Specific project objectives
The Cheers&Cheese to EU project has information and economic objectives:
The three-year project (2024-2027) aims to increase consumer awareness of the promoted quality schemes and also to positively influence the recognition of the European quality schemes PDO and DOC.
It organises and supports informative and experiential initiatives where the wine and cheese pairing is the key.
The programme uses the already widespread reputation of these products to consolidate the knowledge and awareness of their characteristics among consumers.
If you know the products, you are more aware and freer to choose.
The project aims to raise consumer awareness about Grana Padano PDO and Prosecco DOC to support and promote the market for these Made in Italy excellences in Europe.
Grana Padano PDO and Prosecco DOC are Italian as well as European excellences.
For this reason, promoting their knowledge and highlighting their characteristics and qualities is good for the market and for the dairy and winemaking sectors (PDO sparkling wine category) not only in our country of origin, but throughout our continent.
